Features & Benefits
The latest and current Department for Transport Approved test piece for the Image Quality Test Procedure for Computed Tomography (CT Scanning). CT Scanning is a new variety of security X-ray scanning equipment to enhance threat detection capabilities for carry-on baggage. The technology used is similar to CT technology used in the medical field and research shows that CT is the most consequential technology available today for airport baggage checks.
Most current screening technology for carry-on bags uses 2-D images. The CT technology differs by applying sophisticated algorithms for the detection of explosives and other threats by creating a 3-D image that can be viewed and rotated 360 degrees for a thorough analysis.
The 3D X-Ray Test Piece EE 3552 has been designed in conjunction with the DfT to give the correct calibration imaging for this new generation of scanner technology.
